AU - جسام، محمد جاسم AB - The aim of this research is to construct a proposed training program based on the analytical approach to develop short story writing skills among fifth graders. To achieve this, the researcher prepared a questionnaire to identify the short story writing skills, as well as an initial questionnaire to identify the subjects of the program (educational objectives, content, teaching aids, teaching methods, assessment) After confirming the answers to the experience, the researcher reached the skills of writing the story, and also reached the final paragraphs of the program after verifying its validity and stability using statistical means (Pearson correlation coefficient, weighted average, percent weight, Kay equation, Cooper equation). The researcher presented the final program to a group of experts to judge the validity of the objectives of the program and its activities and educational means and methods of teaching accredited and the time required to implement it, and the results obtained approval for the clarity of language and comprehensiveness and reality and the possibility of application. In light of this, the researcher recommended the following recommendations: 1) the need to keep up with the teachers of Arabic language and its courses of development in the curricula and trends of modern teaching. 2) The need to use different teaching methods when teaching literature and texts in the secondary stages, especially with regard to creative writing. To complete the research, the researcher suggested: 1) Study the program by a specialized committee in the Ministry of Education for future application. 2) Develop the program at the time level, to take a broader range commensurate with the conditions of teachers and students. 3) Application of the proposed training program on a selected sample of fifth grade students.
