AU - الجليدي، حسن بن إبراهيم بن حسن AB - The purpose of this study was to set a proposal for development of students’ achievement evaluation of the Arabic language department at Jouf University. The researcher used descriptive analytic methodology. The population of study includes all faculty members of the Arabic language departments at Jouf University. The researcher chose (35) faculty members who responded to instrument. The researcher designed an instrument to answer study questions which related to literature studies and the research to topic. The instrument contains (43) statements divided into eight categories which are: performance-based evaluation, portfolios, self-evaluation, peer evaluation, observation as an evaluation, interviewing as an evaluation, test as an evaluation, and concept map as an evaluation. The major findings indicate that percentage of sample’ respond were low except the seven categories. Also, there are significant differences among means of sample due to experience of teaching. Experience of teaching and students evaluation might be made faculty members more knowledge of using different types of tests in students’ evaluation.
