AU - المطرفي، غازي بن صلاح AB - Impact of a training program based on the habits of mind in promoting creative thinking and comprehending of scientific enterprise of and attitude towards these habits at science student teachers at Umm Al-Qura University the study aimed to disclose the effect of a training course based on mental habits of mind of promote innovative thinking and understanding of scientific enterprise of and attitude towards these habits at science student teachers at Umm Al-Qura University. The study was comprised of (100) students divided into two groups (experimental and control) with (50) students in each group. The training program had been applied to the experimental group only (the control group students were not exposed to this program; they received the regular program) the next instruments which were administered before and after the experiment were: creative thinking test. Test of comprehending the nature of scientific enterprise; measure of attitude towards habits of mind; upon gathering of data and analyzing them the study reached the following important results: 1) the existence of statistically significant differences of the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups students in creative thinking, nature of scientific enterprise attitude toward H.M. in behalf of the experimental group students. 2) The study stressed that the effect size of the training program was medium in promoting each of: creative thinking, scientific enterprise, and large attitude towards mental habits, with squared Etal ( 2) reaching (0.75, 0.78, 0.86) respectively; thus emphasizing the efficiency of the mental habits - based training program in cultivating innovative thinking, comprehending the nature of scientific enterprise, and the attitude towards mental habits. The study presented a number of recommendations in view of the results obtained it also suggested the conduction of more studies and researches.
