AU - أبو بكر، نشوة كرم AU - المعمري، أحمد AB - The current study aimed to validate the scale of psychometric characteristics of the compulsive purchasing behavior. The study used a descriptive research approach to answer the study questions. The measure of compulsive purchasing behavior was used by Abu Bakr and Ahmed El-Maamari, which was applied to a sample of 66 students 36 males with an average age of 22.28 + - 6.70; 30 females with an average age of 19.93 + - 2.48) and a basic sample of 247 male and female students at Qassim University in Saudi Arabia: 100 males with the average age of 27.79 + - 8.64; 147 females with the average age 26.12 + 7.36). The study used a quantitative analysis of the data, specifically statistical techniques, including the mean and standard deviation, correlation coefficient, the coefficient of alpha, and factor analysis. The factor analysis revealed five factors that satisfy the compulsive purchase of the participants: impulsion, compulsive behavior, buying pleasure, buying unnecessary things and negative feelings of purchase. The study provided a scale of compulsive purchasing that has appropriate psychometric characteristics.
