AU - حداد، ديانا نعيم AB - The present study aimed to identify the attitudes of teachers of English in the schools of the directorate of education of ‘Bani Obaid’ district towards the professional development programs provided to them. To achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire consisting of (43) paragraphs was used, divided into four areas. After verifying its validity and reliability, it was applied to a sample of (110) teachers. The results of the study showed the following: 1) the attitudes of teachers of the English language in the schools of the directorate of education of ‘Bani Obaid’ district towards the professional development programs provided to them were moderate, where the field of (the supervising authority of professional development programs) and the field of (the methods of professional development programs) came in a moderate attitude, while the field of (the professional development program trainers) and the field of (the professional development program content) came in a high attitude. 2) There are statistically significant differences for each area of the study tool and the tool as a whole, due to the gender variable, except for the field of (the supervising authority of the professional development programs) and (professional development programs methods). 3) There are statistically significant differences for each area of the study tool due to the variable of years of experience, except for the field of (professional development program trainers) and the tool as a whole. 4) The study came out with a set of recommendations that contribute to increasing the effectiveness of the professional development programs offered to teachers of English in schools of the Jordanian Ministry of Education.
