AU - خنفور، هشام AU - لعيس، إسماعيل AB - Our study aimed to study the relationship that can exist between difficulties to learn to read, and the notion of academic self-esteem among the fifth grade students, our hypotheses are as follows: Existence of differences in average degrees of ability to read - to read words, between normal readers and those who had difficulty learning to read; Existence of differences in the average speed of reading - reading words, between normal readers and those who had difficulty learning to read. And also: The existence of differences in the average degree of the academic self-esteem scale, between normal readers and those who have had difficulty learning to read. The sample of the study consists of 110 high, at the two primary schools, the Wilaya d' El-Oued. From a descriptive methodology for confirming hypotheses to arrive at the following results: 1) There are differences in the average degrees of ability to read to the profits of normal readers. 2) There are differences in the average speed of reading to the profits of normal readers. 3) There are differences in the notion of academic self-esteem, between normal readers and those who have difficulty learning to read.
