AU - العمران، جيهان عيسى AU - الجنيد، شيخة أحمد AB - The purpose of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of ‘the Training program in Kindergarten” offered by the Children Studies Centre at the University of Bahrain in promoting the competences of kindergarten teachers. The researchers, using the quasi-experimental research design randomly selected a sample that consisted of (48) kindergarten teachers that was divided into two groups: the experimental group (24) and the control group (24). The researchers employed the Teachers’ Competencies Observation tool that was tested for validity and reliability on a pilot study consisted of (50) kindergarten teachers. Homogeneity was ensured between the experimental group and control group on the pretest before launching the program. The results of the study showed significant differences between the posttest mean ranks of experimental group and those of the control group in favor of the experimental group on both Teaching Competencies and Personal Competencies, but not on Social Competencies. The results also showed that there were significant differences between the pretest-posttest mean ranks of experimental group on Teaching competencies and Personal Competencies in favor of the posttest. On the other hand, it was found that there were no significant differences between the pretest-posttest mean ranks of control group on all dimensions. The study concluded that the training program was effective in promoting the Teaching and Personal competencies, but not the Social competencies of the trainees, and then, suggested some recommendations.
