AU - صبحي، علي. AB - The need for guidance in a complementary factor in the process of learning increases students' motivation to achieve their academic goals. The problem of the research lies in the fact that many students face difficulties in learning gymnastics in the college of physical education. These difficulties negatively affect learning and performing gymnastic skills. The researcher studied these difficulties according to need for guidance scale and academic achievement scale that were designed by the researcher because they are not available in the field of physical education in gymnastics. The researcher tacked in details the concept of the need for guidance and the social-psychological theory that the researcher used in his research. He also concentrated on the concept of academic motivation and Mickland's Theory. He also used many statistical methods to treat the collected data. Then he concluded that physical education college students' need for guidance is very high yet academic achievement was high too. This proves that the difficulties that the students suffer from did not hinder their motivation and academic achievement in gymnastics.
