AU - الضالعي، زبيدة عبد الله علي صالح. AB - This study aims at investigating the perception of the university students and faculty towards e-learning. The study used a questionnaire as a study tool. It was composed of 37 items. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire were conducted. The questionnaire was distributed among 673 students and 337 university professors at Najran University, Saudi Arabia. The results of the study revealed that there was a positive attitude among the students and the faculty towards e-learning and its effect of improving performance and knowledge. The results also indicated that there was a neutral preference among students and faculty to listen or teach using lectures electronically. They stated that they would encourage their colleague to use e-learning. It also provides students with new roles and better than traditional ways of learning. They felt that using e-learning was an obligation not as a matter of choice. Negative participants felt that e-learning has been ignored in educational science and it was not reliable. They felt that e-learning needed effort more than their ability. It also reduced the role of the teacher. This study found that there was a statistically significant difference in perception among students and faculty based on their experience of using Blackboard, their level. However, there was no statistically significant difference in perception based on gender, college and qualification. Based on the findings of this study, some suggestions and recommendations were provided.
