A sample (N = 701) of college students from two universities in Algeria was recruited. They responded to the Arabic Scale of Happiness (ASH), the self – rating scales to assess physical health, mental health, happiness, and satisfaction with life, as well as religiosity. Results indicated that males obtained significantly higher mean scores on the ASH, the self – ratings of physical health, mental health, and happiness than did their female counterparts. All the Pearson correlations between the scales were statistically significant and positive. A single factor was retained separately in men and women and labeled "Well – being and religiosity". It was concluded that those who consider themselves as happy reported higher religiosity, particularly men.
