AB - The main objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between future anxiety and academic ambition of university students, and its relation with the scientific specialization and gender. To fulfill the aims of the research, a Future Anxiety scale of 23 items distributed among five fields and Academic Ambition scale of 27 items distributed among five fields were prepared. The two scales were applied to a sample of 320 randomly-selected students from Hail University. The data was analyzed using the Mean, T-test, ANNOVA, and Pearson relationship factors to check the relationship between future anxiety and academic ambition. Results indicated that there were statistical differences between male and female students in relation to health anxiety and death anxiety in favour of the males. There were statistically significant differences between the literary and the scientific sections’ students in the life problems anxiety in favour of the literary sections. The results also indicated a negative relationship between the ability to put objectives and future desperation and showed a negative relationship between the ability to put objectives and health anxiety and death anxiety. The results also indicated a negative relationship between bearing frustration and future desperation.
