AB - This research aims to investigate the nature of the correlated relationship between motivation performance and superstitious thinking, as well as to investigate the differences in both the motivation performance and the superstitious thinking according to the academic year and gender. A motivation performance scale and a superstitious thinking scale have been used. The sample was (137) of 1st and 4th undergraduate students of Psychology Department (Faculty of Education in Damascus University). The concluded results are: 1) The motivation performance level among the sample’s members was of a medium level. 2) The superstitious thinking does exist among the sample’s members, with a medium level. 3) There is a significant correlational relationship between the motivation performance and the superstitious thinking among the sample’s members. 4) There are no significant differences among the average students’ performances according to the motivation performance scale related to the academic year variable. However, there are significant differences among the average students’ performances according to the superstitious thinking scale, related to the academic year variable, in favour of 1st year students. 5) There are no significant differences among the average students’ performances according to the motivation performance scale, related to the gender variable. However, There are significant differences among the average students’ performances according to the superstitious thinking scale, related to the gender variable, in favour of the female students.
