AB - This study aims at revealing the effect of family environment on developing creative thinking of the basic stage children in Homs Governorate as well as revealing the differences between their parents which define the effect of family environment on developing creative thinking according to gender. To achieve this goal, the study has adopted the analytic and descriptive curriculum and used questionnaire as a means to collect the necessary data. The questionnaire included 30 items, and the sample of study included 200 parents of the children. The study has reached the following result: The effect of family environment on developing creative thinking is confined to encouraging children to talk and express themselves, to practice imaginative and dramatic plays, to stay far from the way of exaggerated protection, to avoid mocking at the thoughts and plays of children and to encourage children to practice the activities of drawing and coloring. There are no differences that have statistic denotation between parents in defining the effect of family environment on developing creative thinking according to gender.
