AB - The current research aims to detect the effect of Mathematical Modeling in: 1) The achievement of mathematics at the Third grade average students. 2) The reflective thinking skills at Third grade average students. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher formulated the following two-zero hypotheses: 1) "There is no statistically significant difference at the level of (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group students who are studying according to Mathematical Modeling and degrees of control group students who are studying in according to the traditional way in the achievement test". 2) " There is no statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group students who are studying according to Mathematical Modeling and degrees of control group students who are studying in according to the traditional way to test the reflective thinking skills ". The research community was consisted of third grade average students in all schools in center Maysan province, where the researcher applied the experiment. Al-Resala intermediate high school for boys selected randomly and in which there are two divisions for Third grade average students where distributed into two groups; one experimental and the other is control. The researcher conducted equivalence between the two groups (experimental and control) to adjust some of the variables that are related to variables research using T- test for two independent samples. These variables are (chronological age in months, the overall average, the former mathematics achievement, intelligence, and the education level of parents). The researcher prepared two types of teaching plans. The first one is for the control group according to (the traditional way) and the second is for the experimental group that studied according to Mathematical Modeling. The researcher prepared two tools to the research. The first represents the achievement test in mathematics for third stage students. It was consisted of (20) items. The second tool is a test of reflective thinking skills, which was consisted of (20) items. The research results reveal that there is a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) for the benefit of students, who are studying according to Mathematical Modeling in the achievement test and skills of thinking. At the end of the research, the researcher formulated a number of conclusions, recommendations and proposals.
