AB - The present study aimed to build alternative future scenarios for the transition to electronic management in Saudi universities, through identifying the actual areas of transformation, and the degree of availability of critical success factors for Saudi universities to succeed in their transition to electronic management. Descriptive process through content analysis was used, along with the methodology of future studies in scenarios style. By analyzing the results of previous studies and related reports, the areas of transition to electronic management have been identified with its obstacles. A questionnaire has been designed in order to identify the degree of availability of the critical factors necessary for the success of electronic management projects. A sample from leaders and faculty members in Saudi universities responded to the questionnaire. After analyzing the results quantitatively and qualitatively, the following findings were noted: The actual transition to electronic management was represented in three main fields: media level, interactive level, and procedural level. There are many obstacles and challenges in both the internal and external environments that face Saudi universities in its transition to electronic management. The level of availability of the critical factors for the success of electronic management projects was average as the medial was (1.82 out of 3) and the suggested alternative scenarios for the future of electronic management in Saudi universities were three: the referential scenario, the corrective scenario, and the creative scenario.
