AB - The study aimed to identify the effect of Project-based teaching in the course of social sciences and patriotism education on the development of critical thinking skills of 1st secondary graders in Riyadh. To achieve the goals of the study, the researcher used the quasi approach. The study was carried out on a sample of 32 students divided equally into two groups; a control group who were taught with traditional teaching methods and an experimental group who were taught with the Project-based teaching approach. The researcher had suggested an outline designed on the Project-based teaching approach in the development of critical thinking skills of the unit of "Islamic minorities". He developed the unit according to the mentioned approach and also offered teacher /student guidance. In order to gather information, pre-test, post-test and Watson & Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal (WGCTA) were used.
