The study aims to present a proposed approach for the development of the administrative performance of the university leadership at the Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in the light of the introduction of change management. The research population includes all the academic leaders (deans and deputies) in the university, males and females, whose total number reached 155 persons of whom 117 responded for the first semester of the academic year 1439/1440 AHT. The instrument of the study (questionnaire) consists of four sections: 1) the study variables. 2) The status quo of the administrative performance of the university leadership in the light of change management. 3) The challenges, the most important of which is the weak financial allocations for university units, and the high administrative burden on university leaders. The final theme includes proposals to develop the administrative performance of these leaders, the most important of which is to provide programs for the leaders’ preparation of the second row of future university leadership and to progress in leadership positions at the university. The study includes three themes for studying the status quo; the effective leadership, strategic planning, business development, and building organizational culture. In order to achieve the objectives of the study and analyze the collected data, the researcher applied many statistical tests using SPSS. The study finds that there were significant differences in the responses of population, recommending a proposed scenario for the development of the administrative performance of these leaders in the light of the change management concept.
