لقد بينت العديد من الدراسات أن المرء بحاجة إلى امتلاك نظرة إيجابية لذاته ويميل إلى تحقيق ما لديه من إمكانيات لتصبح إمكانيته حقيقية واقعية، وأنه كلما كان المتعلم أكثر إنجازا كان مفهومه لذاته إيجابيا وتقديره لها مرتفعا وواقعيا، فالحاجة إلى تحقيق الذات ترتبط بالإنجاز والتحصيل والتعبير عن الذات. هَدَفَ البحث الحالي إلى دراسة أثر مفهوم الذات على التحصيل الدراسي، العينة قوامها 20 فردا من تلاميذ وتلميذات التعليم الثانوي، تمثلت أدوات البحث في: المقابلة النفسية، قائمة تينسي لمفهوم الذات. بينت النتائج تحقق فرضيات البحث التي تنص علي وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا في التحصيل الدراسي لدى من لديهم مفهوم ذات إيجابي ومن لديهم مفهوم ذات سلبي من تلاميذ وتلميذات التعليم الثانوي. Many studies have shown that one needs to have a positive view of one's own self and is inclined to realize the potential to become real, and that the more accomplished one's own understanding and appreciation for itself is positive and realistic, the need for self-realization is tied to accomplishment, achievement and self-expression. The current research aims to study the impact of the concept of self on academic achievement. The sample of 20 pupils from secondary education was: 1) psychological interview. 2) Tensei's list of self-perception. The results showed that the research hypotheses, which provide for statistical function differences in educational attainment, are achieved by those with a positive concept and those with negative perceptions of pupils in secondary education.
