هدفت الدراسة التعرف على تصورات الطلاب حول العمل التطوعي، ومن ثم التوصل إلى مجموعة من المتطلبات لتفعيل العمل التطوعي لدى الطلاب بغية تعزيز التماسك الاجتماعي، واستخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي مستعينة باستبانة تم تطبيقها على عينة قوامها (574) طالبا، وتوصلت الدراسة في نتائجها إلى أن: 1) الطلاب على وعي كبير بأهداف العمل التطوعي. 2) يشارك الطلاب بدرجة متوسطة في مجالات العمل التطوعي. 3) توجد معوقات تحول دون المشاركة في العمل التطوعي كانشغال الطلاب بالإنترنت، ازدحام الجداول الدراسية. 4) لا توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين استجابات أفراد العينة وفقا لمتغير النوع وذلك على الاستبانة ككل وعلى محاورها الثلاث. 5) لا توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين استجابات أفراد العينة وفقا لمتغير التخصص وذلك على الاستبانة ككل وعلى محوري الأهداف والمعوقات، بينما وجدت فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية لصالح التخصص الأدبي على محور المجالات. 6) لا توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين استجابات أفراد العينة وفقًا لمتغير الفرقة الدراسية وذلك على الاستبانة ككل وعلى محوري الأهداف والمجالات، بينما وجدت فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في محور المعوقات لصالح الفرقة الرابعة. The study aimed at knowing the students' perceptions about voluntary work, and then to reach a set of requirements to activate the voluntary work among students in order to enhance social cohesion. The study used the descriptive method by employing a questionnaire administered to a sample of 574 college students. The study bore out the following results: 1) Students are highly aware of the goals of volunteering. 2) Students participate in a medium degree in the fields of voluntary work. 3) There are barriers to participation in volunteer work, such as students' access to the Internet, crowded classrooms. 4) There were no statistically significant differences between the responses of the participants in this study on the gender variable in the questionnaire as a whole and its three sections. 5) There were no statistically significant differences between the responses of the participants on the variable of specialization in the questionnaire as a whole and in the sections of Objectives and Obstacles except the field of the specialty domains. 6) There were no statistically significant differences between the responses of the participants on the variable of the study group in the questionnaire as a whole and the survey section of Goals and Study Fields except the section of Obstacles.
