هدفت الدّراسة تعرف البحث الكيفي في تخصّص أصول التربية بالجامعات السعودية، بناءً على نتائج تشخيص واقع البحث الكيفي في تخصص أصول التربية بالجامعات السعودية والكشف عن المعوّقات التي تحول دون تفعيل البحث الكيفي في تخصص أصول التربية بالجامعات السعودية، واعتمدت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي (المسحي) ذلك من خلال تطبيق استبانة على أعضاء هيئة التدريس في تخصص أصول التربية بالجامعات السعودية وبلغ عددهم (108) عضوا، وكان من أهم نتائج الدراسة: سيادة المناهج الكمية على الرسائل العلمية (ماجستير، دكتوراة) تخصص أصول التربية بالجامعات السعودية بنسبة 95% من الرسائل العلمية، وقلة المناهج الكيفية في الرسائل العلمية، ضعف إعداد طلاب الدراسات العليا في البحث الكيفي (النوعي) في برنامج المقررات المقدم لطلاب الدراسات العليا تخصص أصول تربية بالجامعات السعودية، ضعف نشر ثقافة البحث الكيفي، ندرة الخبراء المتخصّصين في البحث الكيفي بالجامعات السعودية، تفضيل الأستاذ الجامعي استخدام أنماط البحث الكمي لأنه المتعارف عليه، ضعف قناعة الأستاذ الجامعي بجدوى البحث الكيفي التربوي، ضعف تدريب طلاب الدراسات العليا على البحث الكيفي في الجانب النظري والتطبيقي، تخوّف طلاب الدراسات العليا من مشقّة البحث الكيفي وطول وقت تنفيذه. The current study aimed at investigating the qualitative research in the Fundamentals of Education specialization in the Saudi universities via diagnosing the status-quo of the qualitative research utilization and finding out the obstacles that prevent the adoption of qualitative research in the Fundamentals of Education specialization in the Saudi universities. The study adopted the descriptive method (survey) via administering a questionnaire to the Fundamentals of Education specialization staff members (totaling 108). The results of the study revealed that the quantitative research gains prevalence more than the qualitative research in relation to the scientific theses (Masters, Ph.Ds) in the Fundamentals of Education specialization in the Saudi universities (95%). Furthermore, there were few studies adopted the qualitative research, the post graduate students showed sever weakness concerning the qualitative research due to the preparation courses offered to the postgraduate students specialized in the Fundamentals of Education in the Saudi universities. The weakness of the disseminating the qualitative research culture, the scarcity of experts specialized in qualitative research in Saudi universities and the usage of quantitative research more than the qualitative one are of the main obstacles. Furthermore, the university staff members are less satisfied concerning the visibility of the qualitative research, the training weakness of postgraduate students on qualitative research in the theoretical and practical dimensions and the fear of the post-graduate students concerning the difficulty of the qualitative research and the length of implementation time.
