The purpose of this study was to identify the status of universities’ implementation to their role in building the educational system for university students in light of the knowledge society, and the obstacles that prevent achieving that. The research sample consisted of 56 of faculty members at the University of Alshaqra' in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the academic year 1435 AH-1436 AH. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method and designed a questionnaire consisting of 64 items. The study emphasiged the role of universities in building the educational system for the university students for building a knowledge society. The main obstacles that prevented the universities from achieving this role were lack of motivation among workers at universities, and the poor knowledge that some leaders and employees have about the concepts of knowledge management. employees The study recommended giving opportunity for all creative employers ones to excel at the Saudi universities.(Published Abstract)
