هدفت الدراسة إلى تعرف واقع القدرة التنافسية بالجامعات المصرية، ودور تدويل التعليم في زيادتها والارتقاء بها. إستخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي، مع الاستعانة باستبانة تم تطبيقها على عينة بلغ عددها 225 عضوًا من أعضاء هيئة التدريس في بعض الجامعات المصرية، وتوصلت الدراسة إلى عدة نتائج منها: 1) أن القدرة التنافسية للجامعات المصرية متوسطة مقارنة بالجامعات العالية، مما يتطلب ضرورة بذل المزيد من الجهد لرفعها والارتقاء بها. 2) أن تدويل التعليم له دور في زيادة القدرة التنافسية للجامعات وتحسين أدائها للحصول على مراكز متقدمة محليا وعالميا. 3) عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في محور واقع القدرة التنافسية للجامعات بين الكليات العملية والكليات النظرية، ولكن وجدت فروق دالة إحصائيا لصالح الكليات النظرية في محور مساهمة تدويل التعليم في زيادة القدرة التنافسية للجامعات، ومتطلبات تدويل التعليم. 4) وجدت فروق دالة إحصائيا بين مجموعات الدراسة لصالح الأساتذة المساعدين في محور واقع القدرة التنافسية، ومحور مساهمة تدويل التعليم في زيادة القدرة التنافسية، ولا توجد أي فروق دالة إحصائيا في محور متطلبات تدويل التعليم. وانتهت الدراسة بوضع تصور مقترح لتطبيق آليات تدويل التعليم بالجامعات المصرية لزيادة قدرتها التنافسية. The present study aims at exploring the status of competitiveness of Egyptian universities and the role of internationalization of education in promot¬ing and increasing its competitiveness. The study uses the descriptive method jointly with a questionnaire administered to a sample population of 225 faculty members of both pure and applied Egyptian universities’ colleges. The findings of the study are the following: 1) The competitiveness of the Egyptian universities is medium, which requires the need to exert more effort to raise it through upgrading. 2) The internationalization of education has a role to play in increasing the competitiveness of Egyptian universities as well as improving their performance to obtain advanced positions in international rankings of universities. 3) There is no statistically significant difference as of the status of the competitiveness of universities, between practical and theoretical faculties, but statistically significant differences exist in favor of theoretical faculties at the center of the contribution of the internationalization of education in increasing the competitiveness of universities, and the requirements of the internationaliza¬tion of education. 4) Statistically significant differences exist in favor of assistant professors as of the status of competitiveness, and the contribution to the internationaliza¬tion of education in increasing competitiveness, and there are no statistically significant differences between the study groups as of the internationalization of education requirements. The study concludes with a proposed mechanism of internalization of education in Egyptian universities with the purpose of increasing its competitive¬ness and raising its position regionally and globally.
