AU - التاج، هيام موسى AB - The purpose of this study is design and experiment a program based on sensory-cognitive cognition of words and language phonetics as well as exploring its effect on learning new words. The researchers studied similar scales and related scales to quasi-experimental approaches to design the current program within a new design to fit the current study, then calculating its validity and reliability. The sample of the study consisted of (216) male and female students from among the education faculty students at Hantoub and Hasahesa in Unversity of Gezira, selected through random cluster sampling. The sample was distributed into two groups, an experimental group and a control group. The findings of the study showed that the designed sensory-cognitive program has a positive effect in learning new words. Moreover, there were significant statistical differences in the effect of the program in learning new words attributed to gender in favor of females. The study recommended the need to introduce the cognitive strategies in learning new words in the curriculum and courses of learning languages in general and foreign ones in particular, to ensure a scientific evaluation process within studied criteria. Further, generalizing this program on other samples of normal students or special needs students in different communities.
