فاعلية استخدام الألعاب التعليمية الكمبيوترية في تنمية المفاهيم الرياضية والتفكير المنظومي لدى تلاميذ الصف السادس الابتدائي



This study aimed at investigating the effect of using the educational computer games on developing mathematical concepts and Systemic Thinking for sixth grade students. To achieve this aim, the researcher chose the educational computer game ( Tangram ) , which was used in the present research to develop the mathematical concepts which are included in the geometry curriculum in all primary stages ( from the second grade to the sixth grade ) for the targeted research sample of sixth grade students . The researcher also prepared a teacher’s manual that explains how to develop mathematical concepts, Systemic Thinking and students’ work sheets using the educational computer games, a list of mathematical concepts which are included in the geometry curriculum in the primary stage, achievement test in mathematical concepts, a list of sub skills of the Systemic Thinking in mathematics and a test in Systemic Thinking in mathematics were also prepared. A random sample from the sixth grade students at AlWasfya Primary School in Port Said Governorate, 2012/ 2013 was selected. The students in the experimental group were 46 boys and girls with pre and post measurement. Tools of the study were administered to the experimental group before and after the experiment to determine the significance of differences. Results of the study revealed the effectiveness of using the educational computer games on developing mathematical concepts and Systemic Thinking for sixth grade students. The researcher presented a number of recommendations and suggested studies. (Published Abstract)
