The aim of the research was to identify the difficulties of learning chemistry for first year secondary students at Othman Abdo Secondary School for Boys. The study sample consisted of (103) first year secondary students. The researcher used the descriptive and analytical approach, and the researcher prepared a scale consisting of 27 items that included difficulties in learning chemistry in five areas: the nature of chemistry (6 items), the textbook (7 items), the laboratory (4 items), and the teacher (6 items). and evaluation (4 paragraphs), and the results of the research showed that the level of difficulties was average in the five domains, and the descending order of the level of difficulties was: the textbook, laboratories, the nature of chemistry, the teacher, and finally the Evaluation.
