The study aimed to uncover how community mathematics was employed in mathematics and social studies textbooks at the intermediate stage in Saudi Arabia and to know the experts' opinions. The study followed the mixed approach (the mixture), represented in the two methods: the analytical descriptive method, through analyzing mathematics and social studies books for the intermediate stage, and the qualitative approach through the rooted. The study used two tools: the content analysis card for mathematics and social studies books, and the semi-standardized interview questions, The study results revealed the existence of two central guides for the orientation of community mathematics, namely: the foundations upon which the mathematics curriculum development is based, and the objectives of employing community mathematics in mathematics and social studies textbooks. The experts' answers also indicated that there are areas that should be focused on when employing societal mathematics in these books: "Mathematics for life, mathematics at work, mathematics is part of the cultural heritage, and mathematics for the scientific and technical community". The results of the analysis of mathematics books revealed that the availability of societal mathematics paragraphs in the field of mathematics for life reached a percentage of (90%), and in the field of mathematics for work (62.5%); it reached in the field of mathematics for a scientific and technical community a percentage of (71.43%), and finally in the field of mathematics as part of the cultural heritage it reached (71.43%), while the results of the analysis of social studies textbooks revealed the availability of societal mathematics paragraphs in the field of mathematics for life, as it reached a percentage of (100%), and in the field of mathematics for work (62.5%); they were available in the field of mathematics to a scientific and technical community at a percentage of (71.43%). Finally, the paragraphs of the field of mathematics were available as part of the cultural heritage at a percentage of (28.57%). In conclusion, a set of recommendations and appropriate proposals were presented for the study. (Published abstract)
