The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of applying blended learning using the active learning strategy and problem solving in raising the level of readiness for the kangaroo competition for students nominated in the intermediate and secondary stages in Royal Commission schools in Jubail. The study sample included 60 students from the third intermediate and first secondary grades, they were randomly divided into two groups, the control 30 students and the experimental 30 students. The study followed the quasi-experimental approach using the pre-tests and post-tests to answer the research questions. The results of the study showed an improvement in the scores in the performance of the experimental and control group students on the post-tests in favor of the experimental group. The results also showed that the preparatory enrichment program implemented in blended learning proved its effectiveness in developing the skills of solving the given mathematical problems and in improving students' scores in the applied kangaroo tests. The study concluded with several recommendations, including the importance of including in mathematics courses preparatory scientific enrichment activities through blended learning that are commensurate with the requirements of the challenge necessary to motivate talented students to engage in such programs that would meet their needs and at the same time work on developing creative thinking.
