The current study aimed to investigate the level of the relationship between emotional intelligence and self-efficacy in counseling among psychological and educational counseling students at Hodeidah University, Yemen. The study followed the census method, and the sample was composed of (50) students from the fourth level, Department of psychological counseling of Education. The descriptive survey method was used, and the emotional intelligence scale and the self-efficacy counseling scale were used to achieve the study objectives. The study findings revealed that the highest available dimension of emotional intelligence was motivation, and the least was managing emotions. The findings also showed that the level of general emotional intelligence among the study sample was high, whereas the level of self-efficacy in counseling was rated between medium and high level. The total degree of self-efficacy was high. Moreover, the correlation coefficient between the total degree of self-efficacy and the total degree of emotional intelligence was positive and significance at the level (0.01). The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the level of emotional intelligence and self-efficacy in counseling of the students of the Psychological and Educational Counseling Department, which could be due to the number of counseling applications. The study concludes with some recommendations and suggestions for future research. (Published abstract)
