The research aims to identify the relationship between smartphone misuse and cultural identity among Minia university students. As well as revealing the level of smartphone misuse they have and identify the differences between males and females in smartphone misuse and the study sample consisted of (158) male students and female students from Minia university, and the smartphone misuse scale, the cultural identity scale (prepared by researchers), was used, there results showed that there was a negative, non-significant, correlation between students' scores on the smartphone misuse scale and its dimensions (negative emotions, distraction compulsive preoccupation, social withdrawal) and their scores on the cultural identity scale, and that the highest level of smartphone misuse scale dimensions for university students, the first dimension was (negative emotions), which amounted to (74,57%), and it was also found that there was no statistically significant difference between the mean scores of males and females in the dimensions (negative emotions, distraction, compulsive preoccupation, and social withdrawal) and the total score. A statistically significant difference between the mean scores of males and females in the dimension (physical stress) in the direction of males. (Published abstract)
