This study investigates the aging experience in the marginal areas through listing their effects on Elderly lifestyle in some neighborhoods in Rabat city, precisely in Taqaddom/ El Youssoufia prefecture neighborhoods: Al-Farah, Al-Rachad and Bouregreg, which represent the field of this study. The selected sample were a total of seventeen elderly people living in those neighborhoods, including thirteen men and four women. The selection of the sample was based on two main factors: Age (above sixty years old) and the permanent residence in the study sites. This study highlighted the effects of spatial exclusion on the elderly, demonstrated by morphological, physical and social characteristics of study sites, and how it contributed to the activation of another dimension of exclusion, the symbolic exclusion. It also highlighted the role of spatial exclusion in modifying the movements and cessation of some socio-local practices of elderly. Finally, the strategies developed by the elderly to resist exclusion were shed light on. (Published abstract)
