The objective of the current research is to investigate the effect of different types of availability (synchronous and asynchronous) and the two types of presentation (linear and non-linear) in digital storytelling on developing reading and listening skills in tenth grade English subject. The research used the achievement test of reading skill and listening skill as measuring tools. The experimental design used was the experimental design 2 X 2, and the research sample consisted of 128 students from the tenth grade at Imam Al-Muhna Bin Sultan School in Oman for the academic year 2022-2023. They were divided into four equal experimental groups, each consisting of thirty-two students. the first group used digital stories with synchronous availability and linear display mode. The second group used digital stories with asynchronous availability and linear display mode. The third group used digital stories with synchronous availability and non-linear display mode. The fourth group used digital stories with asynchronous availability and non-linear display mode. The research used the two-way analysis of variance method to detect significant differences between groups. Tukey's test to compare between groups and detect significant differences. The results of the research show that the synchronous availability style and the linear presentation style were better in developing the skills of reading and listening in English language subject. and the results showed that there was a statistically significant effect of the interaction between the availability style and the presentation style, in favor of the interaction between the synchronous availability style and the linear presentation style on listening skill. The researcher also suggested conducting research dealing with the interaction between the style of availability and the style of presentation in the digital story and other dependent variables such as tendencies, attitudes, motivation, and academic achievement.
