The present study aimed to assess the impact of social media on developing the literary appreciation of Tabuk University students and their attitude towards it in the light of the variables of: gender, academic level, specialization, rate of use. 200 male and female students studying at Tabuk University were surveyed as a sample of the study through two scales prepared by the researcher. The first scale was prepared to identify the effect of social media on the development of literary appreciation among students of Tabuk University, and the second scale was to depict the psychological, social and academic attitudes of students towards using social networking sites to develop literary taste. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the analytical survey method with its various dimensions. The results of the study showed that there is a statistically significant correlation between the use of social networking sites and the development of literary taste among the study sample of students of Tabuk University. The study also showed that there are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance 0.05 on the first scale due to the variable of sex. There is a statistically significant differences at 0.05 level of significance due to the variable of academic level and specialization on the first scale of the study. The results of the study also showed that there are statistically significant differences at 0.05 level of significance due to the variable of use rate on the study scale. (Published abstract)
