The study of the reasons behind the decline of the Braille writing system despite the ease of spreading aims to explore the reasons for the decline of the Braille writing system, and the decline in its use, in terms of two main dimensions: 1) visually impaired people and their society. 2) the characteristics of the Braille writing system and the companies producing it. The tool used for this study was a survey that consisted of 16 parts divided into two dimensions: 1) the blinds and their society. 2) the characteristics of Braille and the companies producing it. The survey included 100 participants of both totally and partially blinds. The study concluded the following results: There is a clear decline in the use of the Braille writing system caused by society and the companies that are producing Braille. There is an agreement among those who are totally and partially blinds on the reasons for the decline of the Braille writing system that is argued to be caused by society and the companies producing it, a disagreement, however, was noticed on the reasons behind the blinds themselves, which can be due to personal abilities and the time of disability.
