The study aimed to Investigate the impact of teaching physics concepts by using the thinking maps strategy to develop visual thinking skills upon second-grade secondary students. In order to achieve this goal, a test was prepared in visual thinking skills. Experimental method used in a semi-experimental design and the sample included (60) second-grade high school students at Alkizran high school for girls in AhdRofida, randomly divided into two equal groups one of them experimental amounted to (30) students, studied the class, waves and vibrations, using a map strategy thinking, the other is amount of (30) students, studied in the traditional way. The study duration was three weeks. It applied the visual thinking skills test applied before and after the study for both the investigational and the control groups. Data was analyses using statistics. The study was very informative; however, the most important findings was superiority of the investigational group over the control. The average scores of students in the investigational group were statistically significant superior over the control. The results showed a significant impact in teaching physics concepts using the thinking maps strategy to develop visual thinking skills among experimental group students, and in light of the results a range of recommendations were made, including: interest in using the strategy of thinking maps at different levels of study in general and secondary school in particular to teach different concepts.
