The study aimed to identify the reality of critical thinking skills among secondary school students in Gezira state in Sudan during the year 2020, in an attempt by a researcher to answer the main question: What are the levels of critical thinking skills among secondary school students in Gezira state? The study sample consisted of (510) male and female high school students in the state of Gezira, and the sample which is the community represented both genders and different educational levels from the first year to the third year. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which is that the inference skill ranked first among the critical thinking skills, with an arithmetic mean of (4.507) and a standard deviation of (2.238), and the explanation for this is that the inference skill dealt with the processes of generating arguments and assumptions, searching for evidence, and identifying cause and effect, all of which are operations practiced by individuals in Life in addition is largely practiced in schools and universities. The study also recommended a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the necessity of including one or more courses in teaching thinking in general, or critical thinking in particular, in the study plans for secondary school students.
