The study aimed to identify the reality of reading practice among students of the College of Basic Education in the State of Kuwait from their point of view, to identify the advantages and disadvantages of paper and electronic reading, and to identify the areas of paper and electronic reading, and the role of the College of Basic Education Library in directing reading practices, and the effect of some variables on that. The study followed the descriptive approach, and data was collected through a questionnaire applied to a sample of (1191) male and female from the College of Basic Education. The results showed that (16.85%) of the study sample dedicate part of their time to reading daily, that (59.09%) of the sample spend less than an hour in reading, and that (55.55%) use a mobile for reading, and that (59.88%) prefer to use paper reading, compared to (40.12%) for electronic reading, and that (63.82%) of the sample spend about an hour in electronic reading. The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the averages of the study sample about the reality of e-reading due to gender, specialization, academic year and GPA variables, with the exception of the fields of paper and electronic reading, the advantages of paper and electronic reading and the defects of each, where differences were found due gender and academic year variables.
