This research aims at diagnosing drugs addiction cases and how severe they are among a sample of students living in the dorms at Basrah university / Qarmat Ali site. The researchers adopted the (Skinner. HA, 1982) Dast-20 instrument in the diagnosis process. A "yes" or "no" response is requested from each of the 20 questions, and each yields a score (one, zero) respectively. The researchers used the total score to decide the severity of addiction. The total score (zero) means that the tested person is clear of addiction, the total (1-5) means that there is a light addiction case, the total (6-10) means that there is a moderate addiction case, whereas the total (11-15) means that the addiction is severe and the total (16-20) means that the addiction is very severe.
