The study aimed at investigating the effect of imaginative thinking strategy in developing literary appreciation skills in Arabic for the 6th Grade Primary School pupils. The participants were 40, 6th grade (male and female) primary pupils. They are considered as an experiment group. The present study followed the descriptive analytical method for reviewing the theoretical background of the study. Furthermore, the quasi experimental of one experiment group design was used in the experimental part of the study. The instrument used was literary appreciation skill test prepared by the researcher. The second unit of the academic book was reformulated using imaginative thinking strategy to be taught for the experiment group. The important findings of the present study were identifying the ninth literary appreciation skills appreciation skills for the participants, Also, there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experiment group pupils on the pre and post administration. In addition, there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the male and female the experiment group pupils on the post administration of the test in favor of the female pupils. Thus, the aim of the study was achieved as imaginative thinking strategy was effective in developing literary appreciation skills in Arabic for 6th grade primary school pupils. Based on these results, it was recommended the importance of developing literary appreciation skills and using the suggested strategy. (Published abstract)
