The aim of the current research is to verify the effectiveness of self-organized learning in teaching biology to develop critical thinking skills and academic ambition among high school students; To achieve this goal, the research sought to answer the following main question: What is the effectiveness of self-organized learning in teaching biology to develop critical thinking skills and academic ambition among high school students? The research sample consisted of (60) female students from the first secondary school students in the two schools (Jehan Sadat Secondary School for Girls and the Secondary Girls in the East Mansoura Educational Administration). They were divided equally into two groups. The first: an experimental group: it includes (30) female students studying the unit of (cell: composition and function) according to self-organized learning, and the second is the control group: it includes (30) female students studying the unit of (cell: installation and function) according to the usual method. The researcher has prepared experimental treatment materials represented in: ”The teacher’s guide, and the student’s activity brochure; in addition to preparing research tools, which are: the achievement test, the critical thinking test in the unit (cell: composition and function) in addition to the academic ambition scale”. The results of the research assured the effectiveness Self-organized in biology teaching to develop some critical thinking and academic ambition skills among high school students. In light of these results, the researcher presented some recommendations and proposed research. The research included five chapters, summary in Arabic, summary in English, (11) appendices, (28) tables, (7) forms, (146) Arabic references and (32) foreign references. (Author’s abstract)
