The aim of this study is to ascertain the trends of students in the university education stage in Egypt towards voluntary work and its consequent achievements, including self-realization, as well as a presentation of the most important areas in which university youth wish to volunteer, and the reasons for their refusal to volunteer. Which are faced by university youth as they move towards the difficulty of volunteer work and its expected effects, as well as the gains that accrue to them as a result of participating in volunteer work, in addition to identifying the means and mechanisms necessary to activate the participation of university youth in volunteering? Investigating the trends of students in the university education stage towards participating in volunteer work and facing the obstacles and expected effects in the light of gender, specialization and social variables. The study aimed to answer the following main question: Are there statistically significant differences between the attitudes toward participation in volunteer work and self-achievement among university students? The researcher used the descriptive approach. The study society is represented by a group of students from the faculties of commerce, science, medicine, education, literature and engineering at Ain Shams University. The number of primary students reached (4658), according to official statistics at the university. The researcher chose a random sample of (1333) students. The researcher designed a survey form directed to all the sample items to obtain the necessary information, which enables him to answer the questions of the study. The study tools included the following measures: 1) Inventory of youth attitudes towards participation in volunteering work prepared by the researcher. 2) Shostrom scale of personal orientation and self-realization prepared by Talaat Mansour and Viola El Beblawi. The results of the study showed a statistically significant positive correlation between the responses of the individuals of the research sample in the voluntary work scale and the responses of the research sample members in the self-achievement scale. The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the study sample Self-according to the social situation and specialization (literary colleges and scientific colleges) as well as gender.
