The current study aimed to identify the level of self-determination behavior of students with intellectual disabilities and the obstacles to its acquisition from the viewpoint of teachers and parents of students with intellectual disabilities, and to achieve the goals of the study; a questionnaire was prepared by the researcher prepared on (252) teachers and parents with intellectual disabilities. The results of the study found that the level of students with intellectual disabilities with self-determination behavior was at a moderate degree in intellectual education institutes and programs in the city of Riyadh, the level of which ranged between (4.21) and (2.40) from the teachers point of view, and between (4.04) and (2.67) From the point of view of parents. The study did not reveal statistically significant differences in the behavior of self-determination according to the type variables of the teacher and the parent, and the educational location of the teacher. The results indicated that the absence of a curriculum related to the behavior of self-determination is one of the most important obstacles to the acquisition of the behavior of self-determination. There are statistically significant differences in this field according to the variable of the educational place for students with intellectual disabilities. (Published abstract)
