The main tenet of the research in perspective was to pinpoint the level of quoting from religious texts in science textbooks in the secondary grade in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia along with a proposed model for their inclusion. In order to render real such an aspiration, the descriptive-analytical method was implemented. The sample of the study comprised topics of science textbooks in the secondary grade amounting to 267 topics included in 21 textbooks. An analysis-card was devised for such a purpose. Statistical analyses of the available data revealed that the number of Quranic verses as well as prophetic sayings quoted in the topics investigated reached 24 verses and 4 prophetic sayings only. The level of using Quranic quotations in the topics ranged from mediocre in biology textbooks to very weak in the other textbooks in general. Quoting from the prophetic sayings ranged from so weak to nil in all of the science textbooks. Moreover, the study proved that 50% of the Quranic verses quoted were not suitable for the context in which they were used in the scientific texts. Meanwhile, all of texts quoted from the prophetic sayings were suitable for the context of the texts. The study recommended developing a mechanism for quoting from religious texts in science textbooks in the secondary grade both quantitatively and qualitatively. As well, the research recommended using the proposed mechanism in development processes. (Published abstract)
