دراسة تقويمية لمقررات مهارات التفكير لدى طلاب المرحلة الابتدائية في مدارس التعليم العام الابتدائية للبنات بمدينة الرياض في ضوء أهدافها

The current study aimed at identifying the status quo of achieving the objectives of the thinking skills courses and the difficulties of achieving such objectives from the viewpoints of the gifted pupils’ teachers in the general education schools for females in Riyadh city. The study adopted the survey method, and the semi-structured interviews for gathering the study data from the study participants totaling 20 female teachers. The results of the study revealed that: 1) The courses of thinking skills in the primary stage achieve their objective to an average degree from the viewpoints of the gifted pupils’ teachers in the general education schools for females in Riyadh city. The reasons for such degree was attributed to that such courses were designed by teachers who do not have sufficient experiences; there are interference between the general aims and objectives; and there were no obvious practical procedural for achieving such objectives. 2) The thinking skills courses contents of the primary stage were sufficient and suitable for an average degree to achieve their objectives from the viewpoints of the teachers. The reason for such degree was attributed to that some examples and methods of teaching were not obvious and some of them were not suitable for the current age. 3) There were some difficulties, which hinder achieving such objectives from the teachers’ points of views like difficulties related to the activities and worksheets, those related to the pupils’ needs and interests, and those related to the required resources for teaching such courses. 4) The gifted pupils’ teachers in the general education schools for females in Riyadh city suggest some procedures for achieving the courses objectives like providing activities that take into account the individual differences of the pupils, functionalizing the modern technological means in administering the skills.
