The study aimed to identify the degree of the possession of history teachers of teaching competencies in light of the standards of performance excellence from their point of view. The researcher used the analytical descriptive method, due to its suitability for the purposes of the study. Academic and performance competencies). After verifying their validity and stability, they were applied to a random sample of (56) teachers and teachers of history in Ajloun governorate in Jordan. After the study tool was applied to the sample, the data were entered into SPSS programs for analysis. The results revealed that the degree to which the teachers of history of teaching competencies in the light of the performance standards distinguished from their point of view was average on all areas and the tool as a whole. On the other hand, the results revealed that there were no statistically significant differences due to gender variables and scientific qualifications, while the results revealed that there were differences of statistical significance due to the variable of experience and the benefit of those with higher experience. In light of the previous results, the researcher recommended holding workshops and training programs to develop the competencies of teachers of cognitive knowledge history by the department of educational supervision in the directorates of education in Ajloun governorate and the need to encourage history teachers to exchange classroom visits among themselves in order to benefit from teachers with high experience.
