The aim of the study was to identify the effectiveness of teaching English in the computer-guided survey and survey in the development of reading comprehension skills and the higher thinking skills of students in the tenth grade. The study sample consisted of (105) students of the tenth grade in the school of the martyr Ahmed Al-Ziyud Secondary School for Boys belonging to the directorate of the breeding of Zarqa in Jordan. Three groups were randomized to teach using the computer-assisted and computer-assisted survey and survey strategies and randomly divided the teaching strategy. The first pilot group was using the targeted survey strategy, consisting of 34 students. The second experimental group was studied using the computer- it consisted of (35) students, and the third group studied in the usual way, and consisted of (36) students for the first semester 2017. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences between reading comprehension skills in English due to the teaching strategy in favor of the directed survey. There were statistically significant differences between reading comprehension skills also due to the teaching strategy in favor of computer survey. The results also showed significant differences between higher thinking skills are attributed to the teaching strategy for targeted inquiry, and there are statistically significant differences between higher thinking skills also due to the teaching strategy for computerized survey.
