The study aimed at identify the impact of self-awareness, which is considered to be one of the skills of emotional intelligence, on the effectiveness of the behavior of the administrative leader in the directors of the departments working at the University of Khartoum, also clarify how to use the skills of self-awareness. This concept within the administrative institutions in addition to other objectives, including trying to reach everything new and everything that would contribute to the development of the administrative process in general and leadership in particular and focused on the problem of the study on the following question: what is the role of awareness of this On the effectiveness of the behavior of the administrative leader at the University of Khartoum. The hypothesis of the research is the existence of a positive correlation between the awareness of self and the effectiveness of the behavior of the administrative leader. The study has reached a number of results, including: a statistically significant relationship between the concept of self-awareness and the effectiveness of the behavior of the administrative leader, and recommended the need to raise the level of knowledge of the administrative leaders, with regard to the subject of self-awareness which should be taken by the leader in mind, In the administrative work, in addition to holding seminars and periodic lectures on this concept within the administrative institutions. So that these institutions can find solutions to the real problems of institutions and increase the effectiveness of development and change and meet the challenges. (Published abstract)
