This study aimed to know the status of the listening skills in the Book of “The Interesting” in Literature, Texts and Guided Reading for the First Secondary Year ـ Common Trunk Literature in Algeria , where we relied on the descriptive approach to analyze the sample of study, which represents the textbook for the first secondary year Literature In Algeria, We have adopted a list of listening skills for this level, and after measuring their validity and reliability, we analyzed the textbook accordingly. The results of the study showed that the appropriate listening skills for the first secondary year student, included in the textbook by 87.79%, which is a high rate compared to other listening skills. We also found a lack of consistency and proportion between the appropriate listening skills for the first year student Secondary literature in Algeria, in the rate of its inclusion in the textbook; and in light of the results of the study, the researcher presented a set of suggestions.
