The aim of this study was to identify Impact of an active learning by using dialogue and discussion style on the development of the critical reading skill among ninth-grade students in Wadi- Al-Seer district. The pre- posttest was used to achieve the purpose of the study. The sample of the study consisted of 97 ninth-grade students at Jameel Shaker Secondary School for Boys, and Al-Swefiyah girls who were purposefully. The students were randomly selected to be in two sections: experimental and controlled groups. The results of the study showed that there were significantly difference at α=0.05 for the experimental group. There were also significant differences regarding to the gender, especially females. Moreover, other significant differences were regarding the interactions between the teaching style and the gender factor. (Published abstract)
