أثر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي على قيم الطالب الجامعي في جامعة أم القرى



This study aimed to measure and determine social media usage effect on students at Umm Alqura University. The researcher used descriptive analysis to measure the research goals. The tool was a survey. The survey has 26 questions the questions were divided into three main parts which are: ethical and religious values family values and economy values. The study result reveled the following: 1) there is an agreement on the affect of the social media on religious and ethical values by 70.6% among the sample Umm Alqura University students. 2) There is a neutral agreement on the effect of the social media on family values by 61.2% among students at Umm Alqura University. 3) There is a neutral agreement from the sample about economy values for students at Umm Alqura University by 67.4%. 4) There are no statistical differences at p value (α < 0.05) about the effect of social media on students at Umm Alqura University for major variable. 5) There is a statistical difference at p- value (α < 0.05) for using social media on students’ value gender variable and for number of hours variable using social media for students who use it less than an hour per day. The researcher concluded with several recommendations: first motivating university student to increase the worthy content in social media through competition direction advising and financial support. Also he suggested that doing a predictive research for existing social media effect on the student personality and his academic level, in addition doing a workshop by specialists for university faculty to employ social media in educational process to make it beneficial to them.
