فاعلية استراتيجية تدريسية مطورة مستندة إلى نتائج أبحاث الدماغ في تحصيل طلبة الصف السابع في مادة العلوم ودافعيتهم نحو تعلمها

This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of a teaching strategy based on the results of brain research in the achievement of science among seventh grade students and their motivation to learn it Participants of the study consisted of (66) students in the seventh grade in public schools at Qasabet Amman for the academic year of (2018-2019). They were grouped into two sections. Thirty-three of them were randomly assigned as a control group, and they were taught by the conventional method and the other thirty-three were assigned randomly to be the experimental group, and they were taught by the teaching strategy based on the results of brain research over 20 sessions. To achieve the purpose of the study, the researcher applied a pre-achievement test that focuses on measuring students' achievement in science. A questionnaire was administered to measure students` motivation towards learning science. All the obtained data were analyzed using (SPSS) package (i.e. means and standards deviations, ANCOVA and MANCOVA). The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences at (α=0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group who was taught by “the strategy based on the results of brain research” and those of the control group who was taught by the conventional method on their achievement in post-achievement test. These differences were in favor of the experimental group. Based on the results above, the researcher recommends that the “strategy based on the results of brain research” should be adopted by the Ministry of Education. (Author’s abstract)
